Z a čuvenog Čolu može se re- ći da je istinska živa legenda. Ima karijeru veću od života, šarm o kojem mnogi pevači mogu samo da maštaju i pesme koje traju decenijama. Nema dvorane ni stadiona na prostoru bivše Jugosla- vije koje nije napunio, iako je na bi- nu, kažu, zakoračio sasvim slučajno. Bilo je to na takmičenju pevača amatera 1967. godine u Bijeloj, kod Her- ceg Novog. To je bio njegov pevački debi, a oni koji su ga slušali te večeri ni slutili nisu da će mladić ispred njih obeležiti muzičku istoriju. Karijeru je počeo kao član poznatih bendova Am- basadori i Korni grupa , a u solo vode krenuo je 1972. godine. I t can be said of the famous Čola that he is a true living legend. He’s had a career bigger than life, has the kind of charm that many sing- ers can only dream of and songs that have endured for decades. There are no halls or stadi- ums in the formerYugoslavia that he hasn’t filled, and they say that, although he was on the stage, he stepped completely casually. That happened for the first time at a competi- tion for amateur singers in Bijela near Herceg No- vi in 1967. That was his singing debut, and those who listened to him that evening could have had no inkling that the young man performing in front of them would mark the history of music. He start- ed his career as a member of well-known groups “Ambasadora”and“Korni”,thenhebeganventur- ing into solo waters in 1972.With the song‘Sinoć nisi bila tu’ (You weren’t here last night), Kemal Monteno presented Čola to the public as a solo artist, and his first album, ‘Ti I ja’ (You and I),

been very nice reactions. It’s interesting that differ- ent people connect to different songs, which hasn’t happened with my albums for a long time. And that’s actu- ally their purpose, for more songs to take on a life of their own, and that’s the positive side of this al- bum. I’m also satisfied that ‘Ono malo sreće’ was done by a team of my associates from the region, while collabo- rators from the international music scene were also engaged. The album was made in studios in Prague, London, Zagreb and Novo Mesto. You also recently delighted the public with the new video for the song ‘Kuća puna nar- oda’ (House full of people). Is this song as- sociated with Čola as a man who has an altruistic approach to people? - Absolutely, this is one of the solutions, but the last sentence in the song that goes “songs for me to hug you” is actually the motto of that song. This was in fact the not-destined-to-be ti- tle of the album, which talks about the love I spread through song via my voice, which is the gift that God gave me. What in your life represents that little hap- piness that you are grateful for every day? - That we are alive and healthy and living our lives. We try to make it even more beauti- ful, happier, to be joyful every day and to make

Zanimljivo je da se različiti ljudi vežu za različite pe- sme, što se dugo nije dešavalo sa mojim al- bumima, a to je u stvari i njihova svrha, da više pe- sama zaživi, i to je pozitivna strana ovog albuma. Zadovoljan sam i što je Ono malo sreće radi- la ekipa mojih saradnika iz regiona, a angažovani su i saradnici sa interna- cionalne muzičke scene. Album je ra- đen u studijima u Pragu, Londonu, Za- grebu i Novom Mestu. Publiku ste nedavno obradovali i novim spotom za pesmu „Kuća puna naroda“. Asocira li ta pe- sma na Čolu kao čoveka koji ima altruistički pristup ljudima? – Apsolutno, to je jedno od reše- nja, ali poslednja rečenica u pesmi, ko- ja kaže: „Pesmama da zagrlim vas“, u stvari je moto te pesme. To je zapra- vo i nesuđeni naslov albuma, koji go- vori o ljubavi koju širim kroz pesmu putem glasa, dara koji mi je Bog dao.
