6 STARI BOJLER OLD BOILER
Kupanja u prosečnom vodopadu obično počinju vriskom i traju pet sekundi zbog ledene vode s planine. Na Azorima, me- đutim, postoji vodopad u kom voda do- stiže 27 stepeni Celzijusa. Zove se Kal- deira Velja, što znači „stari bojler“, i najbolje je mesto za odmor nakon dugih šetnji po vulkanskim obroncima.
Swimming in the average waterfall usually starts with a scream and lasts for five seconds, due to icy mountain wa- ters. In the Azores, however, there is a waterfall where the wa- ter reaches a temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. Called Caldei- ra Velha, meaning “old boiler”, it is the best place to rest after long hikes along the slopes of the volcano.
Najradikalnijim avanturistima Azori nude plivanje s plavim ajkulama. Dva metra duge, ne izgledaju bezopasno, ali istina je da ne napadaju ljude. Ipak, zabranjeno ih je dirati. The most radical adventurers of the Azores are offered the chance to swim with blue sharks. At two metres long, they don’t look harmless, but it’s true they do not attack people. Howev- er, it is still forbidden to touch them.

8 ŠETNJA KROZ POLJA ČAJA WALKING THROUGH TEA FIELDS Jedine plantaže čaja u Evropi nalaze se na ostrvu Sao Migel. Najpoznatija fabrika čaja je Goreana , osnovana 1883. godine. Kao kontrast kitovima, ajkulama i vulkanima, ovde možete uživati u zen šetnji mirisnim plantažama i šolji svežeg čaja. Europe’s only tea plantations are located on the island of São Miguel. The most famous tea factory here is Gorreana, founded in 1883. In contrast to the whales, sharks and volca- noes, here you can enjoy a walk with zen tranquillity through scented plantations and cups of fresh tea. 10

Eroismo, osnovan u 15. ve- ku, koji je dva puta kratko bio prestonica Portugala. Nekada prolazna stani- ca brodova natrpanih zla- tom i srebrom, a danas baština Uneska, pleni ži- vopisno obojenim kućama, portugalskom kaldromom i usnulim vulkanom podno kog je izgrađena.
ry. I recommend Angra do Her- oismo, founded in the 15 th cen- tury and having twice served as the capital of Portugal. Once a transit station for vessels lad- en with gold and silver, and to- day UNESCO heritage site, it is enriched by vividly colour- ed stones, Portuguese cobble- stones, and the sleeping volca- no beneath which it was built.
Everything steams in the Azores. On multiple occasions you will pass pools in which the water is literally boiling. In the village of Furnas, these natural con- ditions are used for cooking: deep holes are dug into which earthen vessels filled with meat and vegetables are lowered to cook on the volcanic steam. Ensure to plan when you will get hungry, because this meal takes five hours to cook.
