SENT MORIC / ST MORITZ LUKSUZ NA KROVU SVETA

SWISS MADE

St. Moritz was placed on the map of the world’s jet set by Gunter Sachs, one of the last playboys of the old mould, when he started visiting the village with Brigitte Bardot in the second half of the 1960s. Lo- cated immediately beside the Italian bor- der, it quickly developed from a village in- to a modern resort that today boasts only the most luxurious hotels and restaurants. Said not to have a single fast food estab- lishment, leading skiers jest that it’s eas- ier to buy a Bentley or Monet painting than a burger and fries. Apart from luxu- ry hotels, you can feel the full splendour of this place while touring the many luxu- ry boutiques, with brands like Cartier, Pra- da, Rolex etc. Glamour, fur, polo, horse races, Rolls-Roy- ces, gold, caviar, champagne... all of this makes St. Moritz the world’s most glamor- ous ski resort. There are virtually no winter lovers with deep pockets who haven’t at least briefly inhaled the aroma of glamour that fills this Swiss city. An overnight stay in the most luxurious hotels costs around 600 euros, and at dinner you will have to go to the bathroom in a tuxedo. For those whose top priority is skiing, St. Moritz offers superb ski lanes that are linked perfectly to the resort. The ski slopes in the popular area of Corviglia, covering a total length of around 80 kilo- metres, are accessed with the help of two gondola lifts, 12 chairlifts, two trains and seven ski lifts. The slopes are most- ly categorised as red, with a few black or blue lanes, which ensures it’s no surprise that four World Ski Championships and the World Cup have been held there. The highest peak, Piz Nair, is at an altitude of 3,057 metres and is known for having the steepest start, reaching a speed of 135 kilometres per hour by the first curve. Of course, besides surfing the white slopes, here you can also play cricket and pole on ice, drive a bobsled or play golf in the mid- dle of winter. Legend has it that the idea of winter tour- ism was born right here way back in 1864, so St. Moritz can rightly be referred to as the cradle of ski tourism. Specifically, Jo- hannes Badrutt, one of the first hoteliers in the area, invited four British tourists who visited during the summer to return in winter and offered to cover all their costs if they didn’t enjoy themselves. And so, these Brits came for Christmas in 1864, and stayed until Easter, and thus St. Moritz began its long hotel and tourism tradition, which the town still lives from today.

Osim luksuznih hotela, punu raskoš ovog mesta možete osetiti dok obilazite broj- ne butike luksuznih brendova poput Kar - tijea, Prade, Roleksa … Glamur, krzno, polo, konjske trke, rols-rojsevi , zlato, kavijar, šampanjac… sve to čini Sent Moric najglamuroznijim skijalištem sveta.
