Real Stories from GAP Graduates Our graduates are at the heart of GAP’s growth story. Here, they share their journeys of development, opportunity and progression.
“I really enjoyed my time working with the Graduates. Different personalities and skill sets, each bringing something new to the table. I appreciated their willingness to learn and get stuck in with any task they were given to help the department. They spent time in the depots and other parts of the business that we do not get to see, meaning they brought with them a unique outside perspective. As much as the graduates were there to learn from us, I learnt a great deal from them. Huge thank you to them, who were all lucky enough to sit next to me and endure my chat! Myself and the full team are grateful for their hard work. I think the Graduates program has been a great success and I wish them the best of luck in the future. ” Heather Spiden Senior Credit Controller (Mentor) “I felt really supported with the transition from education to a full-time corporate role. A big factor in this for me was that my manager made a conscious effort to learn and adapt to my preferred learning styles. There is also a clear commitment from the company to support its people and their long term growth, demonstrated by the encouragement of professional/personal development. As a grad this made me feel positive and hopeful about my future with the company.” Erin Marshall Learning & Development Coordinator
“GAP has created a comprehensive Graduate Programme that has given us an insight into many parts of the business. Throughout the programme, we’ve had the opportunity to spend time in different locations and departments, adding real value to the business whilst learning about every role we interact with. We have regular feedback sessions with members of the Senior Management Team. This lets us review how we are getting on, and highlights GAP’s focus on the Graduate Programme. The amount of experience we’ve gained is incredible. Prospective graduates can be assured that they will gain practical and useful experience.” Adam Rayer Graduate, Sales
“GAP gave me a great opportunity in my first role as Commercial Administrator. From the start I was told there was room for progression and that was true. I’ve been able to progress into a Graduate Proposal Writer, which has helped me build new skills and really broaden my experience. Being recruited from within made me feel seen and showed that GAP genuinely invests in its people. The encouragement from my managers and the chances I’ve had to take on new challenges have all played a big part in shaping my career so far.“ Leah Bannigan Graduate Proposal Writer
