Higginson Round Barn voted best stop on tour About 1,500 people visited 20 sites in Champlain Township in September when the municipality hosted Doors Open 2013 historical building tour. displays antique implements. The Township of Champlain honoured the Higginson family at its regular council meeting for this accomplishment. Built in 1893-94, the structure of board and batten construction, features a hay mow above, with stables below, con- structed around a central silo where cows and horses faced into the centre.
And the “People’s Choice Award” went to the 120-year-old Higginson Round Barn, located on Highway 34 south of Hawkesbury.

Le conseil municipal tiendra une réunion de consultation le mardi 19 novembre 2013 à 19 heures afin de recevoir les commentaires écrits et/ou verbaux sur la proposition de l’administration quant au budget pour les services de l’eau, des égouts et des collectes des ordures et matières recyclables et aux frais d’usagers pour l’année 2014. Cette proposition inclut l’entrée en vigueur des taux de 2014 dès le 1er octobre 2013. Le document peut être consulté sur le site Web de la municipalité ou obtenu auprès du service des finances. Suite à cette réunion, le conseil considèrera l’adoption de ce budget et des frais d’usagers pour l’année 2014 à la réunion ordinaire du 16 décembre 2013 à 19 heures.
The Municipal Council will hold a public consultation on Tuesday November 19, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. to receive written and/or verbal comments on the staff recommendation for the 2014 budget for water, sewer and garbage and recycling collections and the user fees. This recommendation includes the 2014 rates to be charged as of October 1st, 2013. The document is available on the municipality’s Website or at the Finance Department. Following this meeting, Council will consider the adoption of this budget and user fees for year 2014 at the regular meeting held on December 16, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.
