The company worked closely with MEP contractor NUGENT to deliver the open-plan, modern 10,000 sq m space, which cost £30m and has replaced the iconic Students’ Union (SU) building that was inaugurated in 1967. The two companies have worked together on a range of prestigious projects, such as the LIV Student Accommodation, Belfast City’s largest new student accommodation blocks. T hompson Engineering were trusted by Nugents to supply bespoke products to meet the project’s requirements at the Students’ Union (SU) building at One Elmwood. The company provided market-leading specially designed products including Wade floor gullies, Geberit HDPE drainage pipes and Oventrop valves, including the unique ‘Flypass’ PICV FCU hook-up unit. The exciting project was certainly not the first one for this partnership between Thompson Engineering and NUGENT. The two companies have been working together since the supplier’s founding in 1978. “NUGENT can rely on us to supply products at the right time and at the right price,” Ian Thompson, Thompson Engineering Director, commented. “With our large stocks and technical know-how, we
