efficiently with the dimensions of the room. The bedroom radiators were positioned in a recess and the teams finally came up with a solution to reach the required heat load of the rooms. The building was expedited as part of the Irish Health Service Executive’s emergency Covid-19 works and, despite the many challenges associated with the pandemic, the building reached substantial completion in a little over 18 months from start to finish. “The time constraint of such a fast-moving project and timed delivery also challenged our team,” Tony commented. GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIPS In a project with so many sub-contractors working together, Versatile relied on their very good working relationship

with the stakeholders, specifiers, and architects to produce an eco-friendly and efficient solution supporting the entire project. Tony added that “The good communication between Versatile, the mechanical consultant Semple & McKillop and the mechanical contractor Murphy & Kelly was crucial to deliver the building on time.” A MATTER OF KNOWLEDGE Versatile is no stranger to projects in the health sector, having provided heating solutions for buildings such as the University Hospital Waterford HSE Estates and the Bon Secours Hospital in Cork. As part of the team at Heather House, Versatile was especially satisfied to supply a product with a 30-year warranty that has already been used in numerous healthcare projects around the

country. “The product itself comes from an established manufacturer that gives us the ability to support the products in years to come,” Tony explained. “We were also very happy with the knowledge Versatile was able to contribute to this build, leading to a successful completion of this prestigious project.” Versatile has been designing and supplying the most sustainable brands in indoor climate control (HVAC), bathroom ware and tiles since 1984. Their mission is to offer solutions that optimise building performance, occupier experience and aesthetics using the most sustainable, flexible, and innovative products. The company is a 100% Irish family-owned business and provides services to architects, interior designers, engineers, real estate developers and homeowners.
