CHRISTIAN GIVING Golden Text.— “Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he Said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Ac. 20:35. Lesson Text. Lu. 6:30-38; 21:1-4. (Additional material, 1 Chron. 29:1-5- Ez. 1:2-4; Lu. 16:9; Rom. 12:8; 2 Cor. 9:6-15; Heb. 13:16).

(36) Be ye th erefo re m erciful, There are two distinct objects of giv ing in the scriptures that furnish our lesson material—our fellow men and God. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and thou shalt LESSON l o v e thy neighbor, EXPOSITION said our Lord, when He was asked about the great commandment. We shall study first: I. The former name was given to it because it was as far as Jewish women were permitted to go in the Temple. It measured a little more than 200 feet square, in each corner was a chamber used for some of thé various religious ceremonies of the Temple, At its eastern entrance was the “Beautiful Gate” (Acts 3:2). On its western side was a flight of steps, ten feet high, which led up to the Court of the Men (sometimes called the Court of Israel).
