hind putting in this tenant, and seeing everyone watch a sporting events while enjoy- ing their foods/drinks and just hanging out, really felt like such an accomplishment, not just in my career, but see- ing the impact it made on the community, and the enjoy- ment you saw in the people. This is when I really learned I don’t just lease vacant retail space, but really making a dif- ference in communities. What outside activities do you enjoy during you free time? I enjoy spending time with the family down at

shore during the summers, and doing as much as I can on the water. What inspiring word of advice would you give to a young executive gradu- ating from college today? It is hard to see and realize at such a young age, but the efforts you put in when you first start a career, those be- ginning years will define your success and future. Don’t get caught up on what you are making today, build the road to where you know you can be, and don’t lose sight of that vision. MAREJ

tion? Most notable is recent, it was single transaction was backfilling a former 96,000SF Kmart with Floor and Décor, and having the tenant build out, and open during the hurdles of Covid-19. What impact has social media/networking had on your career? With social media taking an obvious strong presence in our indus- try, I think the impact mainly on my career is learning the new platforms and how to successfully reach multiple retailers and learn new ways to reach out and target ten- ants. The old school systems of post card mailing and such have really been replaced with these new methods. Tell us how and when you began your career in the profession you are in, about your current posi- tion and why you choose the field/profession you are in today? I started in the field in my last semester of college. I grew up in a family with real estate background, so I know that would be the field I would ultimately get into, but the retail specifi- cally as I was doing leasing with Jeffery Realty part time prior to finishing college, I landed a few leases and I really enjoyed the concept of doing deals of which I could then walk into, such as res- taurants, clothing stores, etc. It had more meaning and impact to me. What were some of your early goals and did any- thing happen to change them? Early goals at a young age were always driven by monetary achievements. As you grow and become estab- lished, those goals then shift over to your personal life, family, health, etc. What unique qualities and or personality do you feel makes you most suc- cessful in your profession? I think this one pretty simple, I knew growing up I wanted to become successful, not only monetarily wise, but just known in my industry. In saying that, I knew that the focus, and drive I had in the first few years was going to separate me from the rest. I worked endless hours, made endless phone calls, meet- ings, anything I could do, I

would do. 12 years ahead, that work I put in in those early years has put me where I am today. What was themost defin - ing moment for you? My second year in the business,

I sold a former restaurant in my town to Buffalo Wild Wings. As I still lived locally, I would frequent here often, with friends and family, and always run into other friends as well. Knowing I was be-
