Hostplus delivers more than performance
That’s why data integrity is critical. If payroll data isn’t accurate at the time of processing, it can lead to unnecessary delays and stress. Hostplus is working closely with employers to provide guidance and tools that support accurate, timely payments. Updates to SuperStream standards will also improve error messaging for faster resolution. In the meantime, here’s how employers can prepare their super data: • Address any warning messages that generate when you submit your payment contribution file to ensure your employees’ super fund details are correct. • Map out your payroll and finance workflows and consider what might hold up the contribution process or any corrections to rejected payments. • Talk to your clearing house or payroll provider to confirm they’re ready for Payday Super. (If you’re using the ATO Small Business Clearing House, you’ll need to explore alternatives.) • Consider moving to real-time payments if your clearing house offers this. Hostplus understands this is a big shift. It’s committed to helping you navigate it with confidence. Delivering real value as a super fund means helping employers and members get more out of their super — through strong long-term returns, low fees, and meaningful support. One way Hostplus does this is through its consistently strong net benefit – the return members receive after fees and taxes. It’s a simple but powerful measure of how much value a super fund offers. And it can make a big difference to retirement balances. Hostplus’ Balanced (MySuper) option ranks number one for net benefit out of the 10 biggest profit-to- member funds over 15 years.1 For members, that means better long-term outcomes. For employers, it means confidence that your team is with a fund that puts members first. But performance is only part of the picture. Today, employers want a fund that also supports their people – not just financially, but personally. That’s why Hostplus also supports member wellbeing. Payday super and the importance of data integrity The shift to Payday Super is a major change. For many employers, it will mean significant adjustments to payroll processes and cash flow. Currently, employers have three months to make quarterly super payments. From 1 July 2026, superannuation contributions must reach employees’ accounts within seven business days of payday. This leaves much less time to identify and fix any payment processing errors. If a member’s super contribution can’t be allocated due to missing or incorrect information, the super fund must return it. The employer then needs to correct and resubmit within that same seven- day timeframe. First-time contributions for new employees are an exception – employers have 20 business days to pay these contributions.
