Jake Gyllenhaal appears permanent- ly five minutes away from be- traying someone. Henry Cavill continues his campaign to be- come the human embodiment of a Tom Ford campaign with military clearance. Rosamund Pike, meanwhile, glides through the film like a woman privately aware she wandered in from a far more intelligent screenplay. The premise involves covert ex- traction operations, shifting al- legiances, and enough encrypt- ed dialogue to make a NATO analyst request aspirin. Details scarcely matter.
