Other Benefits Aber Card Your Aber Card is a campus wide payment card with discounts within our catering outlets. Your Aber Card also gives you access to buildings and facilities such as the Sports Centre and the Hugh Owen Library. Trade Unions The University works with three recognised Trade Unions (UCU, UNISON and Unite). Staff can opt to become a Trade Union member and access the range of services and support they provide. The Learning and Teaching Enhancement Unit (LTEU) provides support for learning and teaching development, including e-learning. We organise a full programme of training courses to support learning, teaching and research at university. We also organising the university’s annual Learning and Teaching conference, mini conferences and Academy Forums. The LTEU runs accredited programmes of study through the PGCTHE and TPAU schemes. We also manage the ARCHE Scheme for awarding AdvanceHE fellowships. We develop and support the use of e-learning tools such as Blackboard, Turnitin and Panopto. We work closely with the Graduate School to support the development of researchers through the Aberystwyth Researcher programme.

Welsh Language Courses We are committed to support the Welsh Government’s target of reaching one million Welsh speakers by 2050. The University’s Learn Welsh Centre (learnwelsh@aber.ac.uk) offers courses to staff at all levels, from complete beginners to intermediate and advanced levels.
