DISC WHEEL INSTALLATION PROCEDURES

BALL SEAT WHEEL MOUNTING SYSTEM - (3/4” & 1 1/8” Wheel Studs) • Clean all mating surfaces. • Seat the brake drum fully over the drum pilot area of the hub. • Position a drum pilot near the top (12 o’clock) position. • Place inner wheel into position. One or more nuts can be started in order to hold wheel and drum in position. • INSTALL THE TOP NUT FIRST AND APPLY SUFFICIENT TORQUE TO DRAW THE BRAKE DRUM UP FULL AGAINST THE HUB. • Install the remaining wheel nuts and using the sequence shown above torque all the nuts to 50 ft.-lb., then torque in stages to 450-500 ft.-lb. • Follow the above procedure for the outer wheel, if so equipped. HUB PILOT WHEEL MOUNTING SYSTEM - (22mm Wheel Studs) • Clean all mating surfaces. • Seat the brake drum fully over the drum pilot area of the hub. • Position a drum pilot near the top (12 o’clock) position. • Place the wheel(s) into position. One for more nuts can be started in order to hold wheel(s) and drum in position. • INSTALL THE TOP NUT FIRST AND APPLY SUFFICIENT TORQUE TO DRAW THE BRAKE DRUM UP FULL AGAINST THE HUB. • Install the remaining wheel nuts and using the sequence shown above torque all the nuts to 50 ft.-lb., then torque in stages to 450-500 ft.-lb.
