What I did: Assist in the development, review, and update of the budget and financial models. Assist fundraising efforts, including the management of the data room, preparation of investor materials, and creating data visualizations and dashboards. Support the executive directors with building and managing budgets. Support the executive directors on live projects, assisting in financial analysis, research and modeling. Undertake independent research on key topics and prepare financial materials for briefings, meetings, and reports under the supervision of the executive directors. Support development and implementation of budgetary and fundraising best practices, processes, and policies. Gain exposure to accounting systems and financial modeling tools. Contribute financial responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Request for Information (RFIs) from potential customers. Support the executive directors in various ad-hoc tasks and initiatives, contributing to the overall success of the firm. Business operations. Assist in setting up the company’s operational infrastructure. Assist in the preparation of the company’s business continuity (BC) plan. Help develop business reporting, including key metrics and statistics. What I liked: I really enjoyed how hands on I got to be, I got to be involved with a lot of different aspects of the company. I was also given a lot of independence and was able to lead a lot more than I assumed I would be. I really got to feel like I was a part of the team and not just and intern.
