INTRODUCTION

The Management Recruitment Group have been mandated by BBP Regeneration - a boutique consultancy advising public and also private sector businesses and bodies on all elements of urban regeneration, to recruit a Senior Consultant (Surveyor). With the majority of work coming through public-sector related channels, BBP have played pivotal roles in breathing new life in to otherwise forgotten British towns and cities. This has given the business a unique feel of “social purpose.” We are looking to recruit someone who is driven by seeing and being a part of change - enjoying the challenges and perks of working with a smaller organisation. On offer is a competitive salary of up to £60k, performance-related bonuses plus the usual benefits and the chance to work under a genuine, supportive manager that will guide you through promotion targets and on to more senior roles within the business. The business expects people to take ownership and accountability and in return, they are very accommodating in terms of being able to work flexibly, realising that we all have lives outside work. 02

Case Studies

St James (Dover DC) BBP Regeneration provided a range of development consultancy services to Dover District Council. The St James’s area of Dover has been promoted as an extension to Dover’s town centre with opportunities for substantial retail, leisure and housing uses. Initially, we were engaged to assess viability, resulting in an ongoing appointment to advise on planning briefs, preparation of a prospectus and marketing of the opportunity, selecting a development partner, negotiating terms and providing continued support through planning, land assembly and legal processes and ongoing critical friend support to the Council. Our work helped secure over £7 million of funding support to acquire third party property interests and select a development partner. The £50 million scheme has been completed and was pre-sold as an investment to Legal and General. Anchor tenants include M&S, Next and Cine UK.

Rainham Housing Zone (LB Havering) We were appointed by the London Borough Havering, to support the masterplan and delivery of the Rainham and Beam Park Housing Zone through undertaking viability testing and preparing an infrastructure delivery model for 3,500 homes. Our analysis led to some significant changes to the form of development being proposed, particularly on those areas with the highest abnormal costs to help reduce the viability gap. This has enabled the Council to promote a market led delivery strategy, supported by public sector intervention focussed on strategic infrastructure delivery and land assembly. 04
