G.2 COMMUNITY PROFILE

Geography The Town of Holly Springs is located in southwestern Wake County. It is neighbored by Apex to the north and northwest, Cary to the north and northeast, and Fuquay-Varina to the southeast. The Town is part of the Raleigh, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area, which falls within the larger Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC Combined Statistical Area. Holly Springs comprises a total land area of 15.0 square miles. According to data from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Wetlands Inventory, there are approximately 1,617 acres of wetlands in Holly Springs. Figure G.1 shows a base map of major transportation routes in the Town of Holly Springs.
