Climate Resilience and Green Infrastructure •

Climate Mapping for Resilience and Adaptation (CMRA): C MRA integrates information from across the federal government to help people consider their local exposure to climate-related hazards. The CMRA Assessment Tool provides information on past, present, and future climate conditions. Use it to understand exposure in your area so that you can effectively plan and build more resilient infrastructure in your community. https://resilience.climate.gov/ • Climate Risk & Resilience Portal (ClimRR): ClimRR allows users to generate and export a report of climate projections at a given point, especially useful for hazards such as extreme temperatures, wildfire, and precipitation. A climate projection summary can be created to help with future hazard analysis. https://disgeoportal.egs.anl.gov/ClimRR/?page=Home&views=Wind • FEMA Building Community Resilience with Nature Based Solutions, A Guide for Local Communities: The guide helps communities identify and engage the staff and resources that can be used to implement nature-based solutions to build resilience to natural hazards. https://www.fema.gov/sites/default/files/documents/fema_riskmap-nature-based-solutions-guide_2021.pdf • FEMA Resources for Climate Resilience publication: A 33-page resource highlighting key grant programs and summarizing information on identifying climate risks, planning, and FEMA’s role in community and climate resilience. https://www.fema.gov/sites/default/files/documents/fema_resources-climate-resilience.pdf • FEMA Building Community Resilience with Nature-Based Solutions: A 38-page resource highlighting strategies for successfully incorporating nature-based solutions and right-sized mitigation efforts into development decisions. https://www.fema.gov/sites/default/files/documents/fema_nature-based-solutions-guide-2-strategies- success_2023.pdf • National Climate Assessment (November 2023 Update): Written to help inform decision- makers, utility and natural resource managers, public health officials, emergency planners, and other stakeholders by providing a thorough examination of the effects of climate change on the United States. https://nca2023.globalchange.gov/ • Addressing Future Climate, Population, and Land Use Changes Through Mitigation Planning Training: 1.5 hour YouTube video, part of FEMA training series: Addressing Future Climate, Population, and Land Use Changes Through Hazard Mitigation Planning - YouTube • FEMA/EPA Regional Resilience Toolkit: Summary of large-scale technical assistance projects from 2013 to 2018 discussing regional-scale disaster resilience, with expanded lessons learned. Part of the larger EPA Smart Growth program. https://www.epa.gov/smartgrowth/regional-resilience-toolkit • National Stormwater Calculator & Climate Assessment: A software application tool that estimates the annual amount of rainwater and frequency of runoff from a specific site using green infrastructure as low impact development controls. The SWC is designed for use by anyone interested in reducing runoff from a property. http://www.epa.gov/nrmrl/wswrd/wq/models/swc/ • Including Watershed Planning and Green Infrastructure into State Hazard Mitigation Plans : High level watershed planning opportunities during state hazard mitigation plan updates. https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2019- 04/documents/final4_good_reasons_for_shmos_to_inc_gi_into_shmps_-_508.pdf • USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Landscape Planning: Main landing site for the NRCS landscape and watershed programs, with notes on recent legislation, program fact sheets, and available assistance. https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/main/national/programs/landscape/
