F ew places capture the evolu- tion of Palm Beach quite like the former Neiman Marcus property. What began as a celebrat- ed chapter in the island’s luxury re- tail story in 2000 is now poised for an elegant reinvention. A familiar Palm Beach landmark is getting a sophisticated new lease on life as Worth Avenue enters another era of luxury retail. For nearly two decades, Neiman Marcus was a defining presence at 151 Worth Avenue. Its arrival in Palm Beach in 2000 was significant. The three-story, approximately 48,600-square-foot building occupied an entire acre at the eastern end of Worth Avenue, just steps from the Atlantic Ocean. It was, in fact, the last building con- structed on Worth Avenue. For Palm Beach shoppers, the store quickly became part of the island’s retail landscape, offering designer fashion, accessories, jewelry, and the personalized service associated with the Neiman Marcus brand. Neiman Marcus remained at 151 Worth for two decades before clos- ing in late 2020 amid the company’s bankruptcy restructuring. For a time, the future of the large space was uncertain.
