“There is rejection. There are days when you don’t feel beautiful. You learn very quickly that you cannot build your entire sense of worth around whether someone else thinks you are right for a job.” Looking back, Janet considers those years a degree in life. Modeling taught her independence, resilience and how to walk into a room where she didn’t know anyone and figure things out. She later moved into the music business and hospitality, working at a recording studio in Los Angeles, where her job was essentially to make sure everyone was taken care of. That came naturally to her. “I learned that people respond to how you treat them. They remember whether you cared. They remember whether you respected them. They remember how you made them feel.” That lesson eventually brought her to Palm Beach. Janet came to Florida for love and, with Raffaele’s support, began building a new chapter. She saw an opportunity to bring something special to hospitality here—not by changing what already existed, but by adding to it. “The flowers. The artwork. The welcome. The little personal touches,” she explained. “Someone has trusted you with an important moment in their life. That matters to me.” And she means everyone—the guests, families, charity organizations, vendors and especially the staff.
