Château d’Esclans
The Home of Whispering Angel And then, of course, there is Château d’Esclans , home of Whispering Angel. I had seen that pale pink bottle countless times, but visiting the château gives it an entirely differ- ent context. You can arrange a private visit and tasting in advance, walk through the estate and learn how the wines are made. Tasting a familiar wine where it originates makes you appreciate it differently. That, for me, is the pleasure of following a rosé route through Provence. At first you recognize the labels. A few days later, you remember the plac- es: the road leading to an estate, the vines outside your window, a wonderful dinner and the bottle you drank with it. Domaines Ott A Final Taste of Provence Château de Selle , the original Domaines Ott estate, is an easy stop to make on the way to Marseille airport. You can arrange a tasting in advance and enjoy the wines on the beautiful grounds surrounded by vineyards. I loved the tasting here, and it is a lovely way to fit one last taste of Provence into the journey home.
