transforming lives and removing the hindrance of unconfessed sin from the path of evangelism. It bears con vincing testimony to the fact that prayer and yieldedness to the Holy Spirit are the indispensable factors in revival, and that it is the un changeable will of God that revival shall come when His conditions are met. 138 pages. LOVE IN Á RUSSIAN HEART [C on tinu ed from P age 366] home for her room and board, until she had finished high school. “Of course, you must have your mother’s consent-,” he added1. “But if this is the will oí the Lord, the way will open.” Karen went home, alternating be tween joy at the prospect of living in a Christian home and fear that her mother would not consent to her leav ing. She was the eldest girl, and did most of the housework. Perhaps her mother would say she couldn’t spare her. But the other girls were old enough to take over, older than she had been when' she had shouldered that responsibility. She remembered Dr. Sorensen’s words, “If this is of the Lord, He will work it out.” Before going in to see her mother, she was able to commit the plan to the Lord, •wanting only His will. To her surprise and joy, after she had explained the offer, her mother agreed. “I’m glad for you, Karen,” she said. “I’m glad you have this chance.” In that moment, Karen was half sorry she was leaving. She felt closer to her mother than she ever had and was 1 rebuked that she had planned to run away. “Mother, I wish you knew my Saviour, too,” she said softly. “He could bring joy into your» life no mat ter what the surroundings are.” But her mother' only looked sadly at her and shook her head. It seemed a natural thing, after her final two years in high school, for Karen to plan to enter the Bible Insti tute of Los Angeles. Several of the ycjung people in Dr. Sorensen’s church were going. It was Lucy’s old school, and Karen could think of no greater privilege than to train there for the Lord’s service. Earnestly she waited on the Lord to know His will. Perhaps no one was more grateful than Karen when she was enrolled as a student at the Institute, sharing a small room with another girl, listen ing to men and women of God unfold the beauties of the Word. On September 9, 1943, Karen regis tered for her third year at Biola. After a summer of proving God and seeing His provisión in every need in Daily Vacation Bible School work, she is back with a fresh vision of the need for a faithful witness. She visits her home regularly. Con

It saddens her to go back, yet she feels that she must, praying daily that her people will acknowledge the need of the Saviour, as God in His grace caused her to receive Him. She clings'hard to the promise in Acts 16:31: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house," and has faith to believe God will do the “impossible” and bring her own peo ple to know His love, even as she has found it.
