Modules Competition and Intellectual Property Law in the EU Critically evaluate the justifications of intellectual property rights, and explore intellectual property issues in the context of the European Union’s internal market. Intellectual Property Gain a critical and detailed understanding of intellectual property rights within the EU and UK regulatory framework. You’ll explore intellectual property rights through copyright, patents, registered designs and passing off. Intellectual Property Public Health Medical Innovation An introduction to patent law and the importance and effectiveness of intellectual property regimes, both nationally and internationally. Learn how these regulations stimulate research and the creation of new medicines and medical innovations, facilitating access to them in a public health context. Data Protection and Privacy An introduction to data protection rules within an interdisciplinary environment. You’ll gain a critical awareness of the scope and impact of international, EU and UK mandatory regulations on data protection and privacy.

You’ll also choose two modules from other subject areas (excluding Oil, Gas and Mining Law).

Who will teach me? Janice Denoncourt Janice became an academic in the UK

following a career as a barrister and solicitor in Perth, Western Australia. She has worked as in-house counsel for a publicly listed company, and senior associate heading the Intellectual Property (IP) department of a commercial law firm.
