Helen's Hungarian Langos flatbread
Resident Helen, has shared her Hungarian Langos flatbread recipe, which we had the pleasure to make with her, for her birthday.
For dough: 2 cups flour (280 grams)½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon sugar 1¼ teaspoon instant yeast 1 cup lukewarm milk (250 ml) For frying : oil Toppings: 2 tablespoons olive oil - 2 garlic cloves - sour cream - shredded cheese Method
1.Combine flour, salt and sugar. Mix with a spoon. Add yeast. Mix again. Add milk and give it a quick mix with a spoon again. 2.Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and clean kitchen towel. Let it proof in a warm place until doubled in size ( 45-60 min) 3.Roll onto board and divide into 4 pieces. Form balls and roll out evenly 4.Place oil in heavy base pot, place each piece until golden brown. 5.Place on towel 6.Spread each with a mixture of crushed garlic & olive oil. Top with sour cream and shredded cheese and enjoy.
