Assessment This course contributes towards NCEA Level 2, with all 18 credits internally assessed.

Description This course is designed to introduce students to the study of the human mind and behaviour. Students will have the opportunity to study human nature through the exploration of scientific literature and its application to the real world. Students will develop an understanding as to how psychological research is applied and has changed over time,

The following Achievement Standards will be assessed:

• AS 91844 (6 credits – internal) Examine different psychological approaches used to explain a behaviour. • AS 91846 (4 credits – internal) Conduct psychological research with guidance. • AS 91847 (5 credits – internal) Examine how theory is used in fields of psychological practice. • AS 91848 (3 credits – internal) Examine ethical issues in psychological practice.
