new converts won. But much remains to be done." At present we are alone on the station. . . The leper colony of over fifty is still here, and it is encouraging to see the evidences o f transforming grace in the lives of these poor folk. There are not a few happy faces. “ I have just had a report meeting with my outschool teachers. W e have some thirty-six centers and the boys come in every two weeks for instruction and prayer. There is much for praise but very definite need for prayer. These out- schools are A frica’s hope o f evangeliza tion. Let us remember them before the Throne. T h e L a t e s t i n L ip D e c o r a t io n s “ I am sure you would be interested in the dressed-up woman that we have on the station at this time. She is here for med ical treatment. Being a chief’s wife, she is clothed much better than the average, but in addition to this, she has some unique decorations. From her upper lip protrude three spear heads. These are about an inch long and point in several directions. Think of having your lip perforated and wearing these metal ornaments ! It should be a good protection against fresh young men. But be that as it may, it is quite an interesting decoration. There is no length to which these folks will not go—to be dressed up. A P l e a for P r a y e r “At this long range, it does seem as if it might be the coronation year. The tenden cies of world movements would point in that direction. How short a time for prep aration, for preaching, for prayer! Will not the alumni remember that,'as the con ditions o f the world become more intensi fied, it is a challenge to prayer? Pray for the missionaries on every field. The ( Continued on page 196)

to nineteen. Ribbons to Africa indicate from two to forty, in different portions. The total number indicated in China is one hundred. To date, our records show that 393 students have gone from the Bible In stitute to different mission fields. This number does not include those who are doing distinctively missionary work in the homeland. Along with other missionary items, we plan to present, month by month, live and interesting news from our former Bible Institute students working in these dif ferent fields. Blessing in Africa h e f o l l o w in g encouraging word comes from Allan G. McIntosh, ’24, P. G. ’25, who is working in Congo Beige:

The W orld -W ide Vision “ The field is the world” (Matt. 13:38). “ For God so loved the world" (John 3:16). “ Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mk. 16:15). T h e s e w o r d s o f our Lord give us the divine viewpoint. It is world-wide. The object of. this new feature of h e K in g ’ s B u s in e s s , “ Our Missionary Page,” is to help enlarge the vision of God’s people, in order that they may en ter more fully into God’s plan with refer ence to the evangelization o f the world. The W ord o f God quoted above ought to silence forever the too-oft-repeated say ing, “ I don’t believe in foreign missions.” W e understand how unsaved people can say this, for if they have not enough in terest to accept God’s gift o f salvation for themselves, we cannot expect them to be interested in the salvation o f others. But can a saved person say this and still claim to believe the Word o f God? To say, “ I don’t believe in foreign missions” is equiv alent to saying, “ I don’t believe the field is the world,” or that “God so loved the world,” or that Jesus said, “ Go ye into all the world.” The Bible Institute o f Los Angeles heartily believes in world-wide evangel ization and seeks to keep this matter con tinually before its students. W e present on this page a picture of the large mission ary map o f the world, which hangs in our largest lecture room. The color scheme o f the map indicates the religions that prevail in different countries. From “ Biola” ribbons extend to many different mission fields, and at the end of the rib bons are figures indicating the number of Bible Institute students who have gone to that field. For example, ribbons extend ing to South America number from one
