Salisbury Regional School – Salisbury potter Micheal Wood will appear on the upcoming CBC pottery show, “The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down” on February 8. Currently, Michael is working with Salisbury Regional School students in Visual Arts 9-12, to teach them about working with clay to create both functional and nonfunctional artwork. These students are currently participating in the Artist in the Schools program, which is jointly funded by the Departments of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) and Tourism, Culture and Heritage (TCH). This project began on January 8 and runs until January 23. The pottery, as well as other artwork by students in grades 5-12, will be on display during an Evening of Visual Arts on February 9th. That evening, students and the community of Salisbury will also cheer Michael Wood on by watching the first episode of the series.
