Angela Phillips ’08 ‘19M may have set a record for Mercyhurst connections at her Aug. 23, 2019, wedding to Matt Wachter at St. Patrick Church. During the reception at the Erie Art Museum, the photographer gathered well over 50 graduates and current employees for this group photo. Angela is associate director of international admissions at Mercyhurst. Matt, vice president, fnance and development, with the Erie Downtown Development Corporation, attended Penn State, but both his mother, Mary Beth Sullivan Wachter ‘73 ,

and grandmother, Alice Feehley Crotty ’49 , are Hurst alums. The bridal party included Angela’s twin sister, Rachel Phillips Tupitza ’08 , as matron of honor; bridesmaids Kara Bemis ’08 , Carly Eades Maas ’11 , and Nina Campbell ’19M , assistant director of admissions; and groomsman Caleb Pifer , vice president for university advancement. The rest of the group is made up of cousins, friends, and family friends on both sides.
