How to celebrate Canada Day

Finally, don’t forget to show your national pride by downloading official graphics to share on social media. Let the party begin!

Canada Day, which takes place every year on July 1, invites Canadians to come to- gether from coast to coast to coast and cele- brate the nation. Communities across the country organize a wide range of activities to mark the occasion. Here are a few ideas to help you plan an unforgettable day with fa- mily or friends. MUST-SEES Canada Day wouldn’t be complete without these two key events: • National noon ceremony. This large gathe- ring officially kicks off the festivities. Fea- turing inspiring tributes and Canadian icons and artists, the event takes place in Ottawa and is broadcast across the country.

• National evening show. Like the noon ce- remony, this must-see concert also takes place in the nation’s capital and is broad- cast live on multiple channels. It also in- cludes segments filmed in other regions.

the two events? To find activities near you, check your local newspaper or visit the Go- vernment of Canada website (canada.ca), which offers a dedicated Canada Day section with a useful search tool. Parades, fairs, food tastings and more take place in com- munities across the country. There’s so- mething for everybody.
