This two-story facility, originally built in 1968, is the oldest library in Charlotte County. It has been renovated several times, most recently in 2021. It is 13,000 square feet and serves the Parkside and surrounding communities by providing books, movies, music, digital resources, free Wi-Fi, laptops for use in the building, and comfortable seating for work or study. Library staff are available for reading recommendations and assistance with technology, printing, and more. The second floor contains an interactive learning space for children and teens; a Makerspace with a 3D printer, Cricut smart cutting machines, sewing machine and video editing software as well as a conference table for up to 12 people; and a meeting room with seating for up to 50 people which is available for rental. The Friends of the Port Charlotte Library bookstore is located directly next door.

Located on over six beautifully landscaped acres adjacent to the Linear Park, the 20,000 square foot Punta Gorda Charlotte Library offers southern Charlotte County residents and visitors: a large youth department with an interactive learning wall and iPads for in-library use; separate teen room with gaming area; Makerspace with sewing machines, 3D printer, Cricut cutting machine and Boss Laser Cutter; two small study rooms; 12 laptops with wireless printing capabilities; spacious reading and study areas for adults, including an outdoor atrium area with rocking chairs and a Local History Reading Room; and Friends of the Library bookstore. Additionally, the facility provides an ongoing display of local artwork and houses an archival collection. Two meeting rooms are available for rental; when combined the rooms hold up to 140 seated participants.
