In 2010, the Rotary Club of Placida wanted to honor the late Ann Dever, who many knew as a tireless advocate and champion of our Community Services Department of Charlotte County. Ann Dever served the community and the department in many capacities, including serving several terms as the District 3 nominee to the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, as well as serving as the Chairman. Ann and her husband Chuck spent many hours dedicated to improving the quality of life in Charlotte County. Ann’s personality and love of children, parks, recreation, and fishing were larger than life and all of these can be demonstrated here at this park. By naming this facility in her honor, we will always remember her for all she has done and generously given! Contractual agreements, insurance requirements, and rental fees are required for all activities, programs, and events.
Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park has over 306 acres of land, 50 acres for active use, 120 acres of environmental land, and 36 acres north of the creek. There is more to this park than a swimming pool and basketball courts. It also features a diving well, football fields, tennis courts, a cricket/multipurpose field, a dog park, a skate park, pavilion rentals, restrooms, and nature trails. The Oyster Creek Waterfront Trail connects the Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park with Cedar Point Environmental Park. The trail allows unfettered access to both parks providing trail users the opportunity to experience both parks’ marine life, water fowl, and flora from a unique perspective by allowing them to traverse Oyster Creek under SR 775. The trail can be accessed by either the Oyster Creek Environmental Park or Cedar Point Environmental Park and in part by a grant from the State of Florida Recreation Trails Program.

Skate Park Rules: • Skateboarding and Inline skating only • Skating is at your own risk • Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult 18 or over • All participants must have a signed waiver on file to skate • Waxing is not allowed • Required Safety Equipment must be worn at all times: strapped helmet. Elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards strongly recommended • No food or beverages within the skating area • Profanity, reckless behavior, and willful destruction of property will not be tolerated • Failure to adhere to rules will result in loss of skating privileges
Year-Round Hours Monday through Friday, 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday & Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
This 18,000 sq. ft. amenity was designed and built by Team Pain, world famous/Florida-based skate park designers, and features China banks, concrete bowls, beginner, street, and transition elements. The Skate Park was funded, in part, through a significant donation by the Berlin family and the fundraising efforts of Englewood area Rotary Clubs.
