Printing/Copying Printing and photocopying services are available at each branch. • $.20/BW page • $.50/color page LIBRARIES & HISTORY SERVICES IN THE COMMUNITY The Libraries & History Division is committed to building strong community relationships and finding innovative ways to meet the needs of patrons throughout Charlotte County. Each branch offers a variety of onsite materials, laptop computers, printing and copy services, technology device assistance, reader’s advisory, meeting rooms and study areas, and various programs. Makerspaces offer accessibility to select resources: 3D printers, sewing machines, Cricut machines, video editing software, laser cutter, and CNC machine (resources vary per branch). Libraries & History also offers online access to digital books, audiobooks, movies, music, newspapers, magazines, historical archives, and a variety of databases. Beyond the library walls, the Division offers housebound delivery, traveling library services, historical talks, and informational/outreach visits to schools, organizations, residential facilities, and events. CIRCULATION INFORMATION Up to FIFTY books and other materials may be checked out at any Charlotte County library with a valid library card for the following loan periods: 3 weeks: Regular Books; Paperbacks; Audiobooks; Music CDs; Playaways, Kindles; Playaway Views 2 weeks: New Adult Fiction; New Adult Non-Fiction; Movies Wi-Fi hotspots; eBooks/eAudiobooks
Holds • Maximum number of holds per card is 15 • Place holds via Internet, in person, or by phone
Renewals • Items will automatically renew 2–3 days before their due date unless there is a hold on the item • They will renew up to 3 times • Check the status of your items online, in person, or by phone Picking Up and Returning Materials • Curbside Holds Pickup is offered at all open library branches and Centennial Park Recreation Center; days and hours vary by location • Outside returns are available at all open library branches and Centennial Park Recreation Center (south side) • Materials may also be picked up and returned inside at open library branches Cashless Libraries Please note that all library locations are cashless. We only accept credit cards (over $1) and checks. Food for Fines We prefer to accept donations of non-perishable food items in lieu of cash payments for overdue fines. You will be credited $1 for each food item you donate. All donations support a local food bank. Library cards are free of charge to any Charlotte County resident. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present to apply for a library card. HOW DO I GET A LIBRARY CARD?
Non-residents may have a card for $10 (3 months), $20 (6 months), and $35 (12 months).
