JOB DESCRIPTION

Main duties and responsibilities 1. Leadership Provide leadership (and management) for the University’s building maintenance, maintenance projects, grounds maintenance and estates business systems. 2. Compliance Ensure University academic and support buildings, grounds and related operations are compliant with relevant estate and built-environment legislation. Ensuring University maintenance and grounds activity complies with relevant environmental legislation. Ensure compliance with the Reservoirs Act where it relates to University assets. 3. Strategic Programme Planning Development of rolling 5 year programmes for major maintenance works, infrastructure works, relevant halls infrastructure improvements etc. 4. Service Delivery Delivery of a maintenance service which is customer focussed, cost effective and meets agreed key performance indicators. 5. Estate Targets/Key Performance Indicators Review/ development and delivery of maintenance programmes that contribute towards the University’s strategic targets including those for condition improvement, functional suitability, biodiversity and carbon reduction etc.
