La Brasserie Étienne Brûlé est en construction présentement et les copropriétaires de la compa- gnie ont besoin de l’appui officiel du conseil municipal pour l’obtention d’un permis d’alcool. L’administration municipale a présenté un rapport de la situation au conseil pour la session du 16 février, avec la recommandation que le conseil approuve la demande. – Gregg Chamberlain Complexe J.R. Brisson maintenant sans tabac À la suite d’une demande de la part du Bureau de santé de l’est de l’Ontario, le 25 mai 2015, le conseil municipal du conseil de Casselman a adopté, lors de sa rencontre du 18 février dernier, un règlement interdisant la consommation de tabac sur le terrain du Complexe J.R. Brisson. Comme le plan budgétaire du village ne permet pas à la municipalité de soutenir le projet financièrement, le BSEO s’est engagé à fournir les affiches nécessaires et à promouvoir le règlement. Les cendriers existants devront être déplacés à 20 mètres des portes de l’édifice et les gens qui désirent consommer du tabac devront le faire à l’extérieur du terrain du com- plexe. – Danic Legault

Governor General David Johnston presents Sgt. Martin R. Leblanc of the Ottawa Police Service with amedal for bravery for his teamwork with his fellow officers fromOttawa and Montréal’s police forces when they were on assignment in Haiti in January 2010. Leblanc, who lives in the Village of Russell, and his fellow officers joined relief and rescue efforts following a major earthquake that shook the tiny island nation, leaving more than 160,000 people dead or injured. Leblanc and his fellow seven officers went inside quake-damaged buildings, searching for survivors and bringing themout to safety.They risked their lives inside buildings which were often on the verge of collapse. Leblanc and 30 other bravery award recipients received their medals, along with the Governor General’s thanks for their heroic examples, during a Monday morning presentation ceremony at La Citadelle in Québec City. —photo MCpl. Tous les chiens âgés de 6 mois et plus doivent être enregistrés auprès de la municipalité. La médaille doit être ajoutée au collier de l’animal en WRXWWHPSVHWVHUWGoLGHQWLÚFDWLRQGDQVOoÂYHQWXDOLWÂRXYRWUHFKLHQVHUDLWÂJDUÂ Le frais annuel pour une licence est de 20 $ pour les chiens non châtrés et 15 $ pour les chiens châtrés. Tous les chiens doivent être vaccinés contre la rage. Un frais de retard de 10 $ sera appliqué pour les médailles procurées dès le 1 er avril. Les licences sont disponibles à l’hôtel de ville [717, rue Notre-Dame, Embrun] ainsi qu’au Village Veterinary Clinic [1108, rue Concession, Russell].
