PCF Part 2: Jack Hunter, Peace and Jennifer Shaughnessy Peace turned his head around the IT Suite, his eyes looking for any possible clues surrounding the area. There was a phone on one of the desks, and a speaker directly above the whiteboard. Peace pointed towards the phone. “So this is Zero’s plan?” Peace said, before turning his head towards Jack and Jennifer “Well, this isn’t his plan, more his… meeting.” Jack replied, his hand moving towards the phone on the desk. Jack picked it up and studied the phone very carefully. Suddenly the phone rang and Jack put the phone into Jennifer’s hands. Jennifer sighed before picking the phone up and talking into it. “Hello? Is this Zero? It is! Good to finally hear your voice, but first where are you?” Jennifer nodded to some words before doing a mouthing motion and hanging up. “He sent us a riddle which will tell us where he is, it was ‘What gets wetter and wetter the more it dries?’” They each started to think and started to scratch their heads like they were apes trying to find out what was in front of them. A light bulb appeared in Jack’s head as he started to ponder it more, and more, and more. “Got it... it’s a towel.” Jack said proudly before crossing his arms and looking smug like he just won the World Cup and he didn’t care. “Towel... the Showers. In the PE Room!” Peace remembered, as his eyes flashed and he started to walk out of the room. “Come along!” He waved at Jack and Jennifer to follow him. Jack and Jennifer sighed as if in sync, but then laughed and followed. Peace crouched down low, he knew that he wasn’t supposed to be here in the afternoon and the Janitor had caught him many times. When they finally approached the showers, Peace started to whisper “Alright on 3. 1.. 2.. 3. Go!” They opened the door and looked out into the shower room. They then heard a footsteps in the shower room and watched as black shoes tipped the side- lines of the showers, and the familiar hum of ‘Don’t stop me now’ filled the air. It was the Janitor and he was looking for something, like he knew there was someone here. That still didn’t take him off the subject of cleaning the showers. Then a person whizzed by the front door sending Peace backwards slightly. The Janitor turned his head around and then moved onto the next cubicle. “Damn it Zero.” Thought Peace, but he knew he had to enter into the shower room. His head peered around the doorway to check that the Janitor was gone, and he signalled for the others to come in. He then stood up and ran towards the next cubicle and leaned out over the edge. The Janitor was walking out of the room and scratching his hair like he was dumbfounded about what he just heard. A boy poked his head out and looked towards the door, his expression confused as he cocked his head to the side like a wolf cub trying to find out what’s happening. The boy looked at his watch and then back to them. The boy had blonde hair that looked like it was turning brown. He was very short and wore his glasses crooked on his nose. The boy disappeared behind the showers and then climbed up onto the cubicles. “Um.. Hey kid! You shouldn’t be doing that!” Jack said before turning his head around nervously. “You’re earlier than we expected.” The boy said, before lying down on the top of the cubicle. He shook from side to side but didn’t fall down somehow. “Did you just say we?” Jennifer said with a smile her looks puzzling and confusing for the three boys. “He’s from Zero!” Peace said with a start before walking around the cubicles. “He sent you here to collect us, but why?” “Zero was right about you. I am Echo. But you can call me Joe.” The kid smiled, before jumping down and chuckling slightly underneath his breath. “Zero is right this way.” Joe led the kids to a door that said on it ‘Principal’s Office’. None of the kids were ever allowed in there without supervision. “He’s in there but I would rather not enter, still have business to do.”
