In delivering this objective we will:

1. Continue to develop joint projects with industry and key stakeholders such as the NHS, through the ILS brand, both locally and globally. 2. Use the University’s RWIF funding to allow new research projects to flourish with particular emphasis on supporting ECRs. 3. Work to ensure opportunities around the Swansea Bay City Deal and the Campuses project are grasped, to develop a pipeline of innovative health and sports facing research. We will measure success in terms of the number of collaborative projects, spinouts, patents and licensing agreements plus the volume of funding through innovation strands. Impact will be measured by assessments linked to REF 2028.

1. Celebrate the diversity of staff and student backgrounds and cultures that form our community. 2. Look to continually develop our staff through training opportunities, mentorship and supportive line management, in particular Early Career Researchers with key mentorship programmes and tailored support, for example using St David’s Medical Foundation and RWIF funds. 3. Create a culture of openness and respect to maximise the collaborative opportunities, both within the Faculty and across the University. We will measure success in this aspect through staff feedback to assess the opinion of staff and to develop new initiatives.
