FURTHER ENHANCE THE FACULTY AS AN ENVIABLE PLACE TO STUDY, SOMEWHERE THAT OPERATES FORUMS FOR SUPPORTIVE DIALOGUE BETWEEN STAFF AND STUDENTS THAT SHAPE OUR PRACTICE AND DEVELOP A STRONG SENSE OF COMMUNITY. The aim of this objective is to fully realise the vision of the Faculty as a cohesive community of staff and learners with a shared sense of purpose.

CONTINUE TO DEVELOP THE QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE IN THE FACULTY’S PROGRAMME CATALOGUE TO PRODUCE GRADUATES EQUIPPED TO SUPPORT THE NEEDS OF OUR NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITIES. The aim of this objective is to equip students to realise a broader range of opportunities as graduates by ensuring they have the skills to flourish and contribute in a complex global society.

As recognised by a broad range of Top 10 League Table positions at subject level in the UK, as well as Top 250 positions in International League Tables, the Faculty has a growing reputation for developing and delivering world-class teaching. Teaching across the Faculty’s three academic schools (the Medical School, School of Psychology and School of Health and Social Care) encompasses a delicate balance of theoretical and practical learning opportunities to prepare students to become the next generation of medics, life-scientists, health professionals, innovators, educators, researchers and leaders and graduates who are equipped for their chosen workplace with superb career prospects. Our community of students benefit from the expertise of our internationally-renowned researchers and educators together with outstanding facilities, including clinical suites, laboratories and simulation, and a growing range of opportunities to experience the

workplace via placements, collaborative programmes of study and student mobility opportunities, both in the UK and overseas. Building on almost three decades at the forefront of training the NHS workforce, we are leading the way in training the next generation of healthcare professionals through interdisciplinary research-led and practice- driven curricula to ensure that professionals who will work together in the future, train together today. We are also committed to ensuring that the industry and academic workforce of tomorrow are equipped for the complex global society that awaits them, with a focus on fundamental transferable skills and increased use of digital technologies. The Faculty is wholeheartedly committed to achieving its Learning and Teaching vision, with clearly defined objectives and commitments in the four key areas: Culture, People and Partnership; Student Success and Employability; Teaching Excellence and Curricula; and Reputation and Global Outreach.

Foster a sense of shared purpose to promote the Faculty as a supportive environment to teach, learn and thrive, with effective dialogue between staff, the student body and their representatives and empowerment to their opinions and views heard. 2. Ensure students from all backgrounds achieve their full potential by providing a supportive environment and rich learning culture that celebrates diversity. 3. Actively recruit international students to our programmes to strengthen international strategic partnerships and enhance our global reputation. We will measure success through University metrics associated with staff and student perceptions of the faculty as well as National Student Survey scores around ‘learning community’ and ‘student voice’.

1. Develop our curricula to best equip students with the necessary transferable knowledge and skills to flourish in a complex world. 2. Provide opportunities to undertake relevant and diverse work placement components on our programmes to enhance onwards career mobility. 3. Enhance our stakeholder engagement to maximise opportunities for co-partnership and co-creation to ensure our graduates are best placed to secure a strong future following graduation. We will measure success through performance in graduate employability metrics, representation of external stakeholders in programme approval and review processes and the position of our programmes on key league tables.
