HEAD OF PROPERTY

• To set best practice standards across the services provided by Property and Estates Management, and to ensure that these are fully met. • To ensure that the Property team is responsive in its operational delivery and communications, including compliance with statutory and College regulations, as well as acting on feedback received that facilitates improvements in service provision. • To acknowledge and fully meet Imperial Expectations and College Values. Planning and Organising • To establish robust and fit-for-purpose frameworks for the management of College property and estates, through cross-College stakeholder participant projects from inception to implementation. • Participate in and contribute to the annual strategic and operational planning process for the departmental Three Year Plan in support of Divisional and College planning. Finance / Resource Management • To be responsible for the formulation of income and expenditure budgets and related budgetary plans and the utilisation, control and management of budgets and resources. • To have overall responsibility for business rate planning, protocol and budget cross-College. • To undertake and contribute to budget commentary, review and challenge events. Liaison • To cultivate and establish external relationships, including public and private organisations nationally and locally, and peer groups in leading Higher Education Institutions, in advancement of the service provided by Property and Estates Management in support of the strategic objectives of the College. • To engage and cultivate effective and influential relationships with owners and occupiers of land and property, that is neighbouring, adjoins and/or contiguous with that occupied or owned by the College. • To interact with senior officers within Support Services and the wider College community in promoting and engendering cross departmental collaboration, synergies and the exchange of ideas and information. • To be a member of relevant internal and external Project Boards, Working Parties, Steering Groups and Committees as required. • To attend the occasional meeting outside of normal working hours e.g. Council Planning meetings.
