Anchor Sustainability Report 2022-2023

Anchor’s Board Anchor’s Board has formal and rigorous procedures in place for the appointment and annual evaluation of all Board directors. Our non-executive directors are appointed for a provisional term of three years, which may be extended by two additional terms of three years (to a maximum term of nine years). This cycle ensures Board membership is regularly reviewed and refreshed. The annual Board evaluation, which is externally facilitated every three years, ensures that the overall composition and effectiveness of the Board is kept under close review. C31 Board demographics 44% of the Board are women with five men and four women. When the executive directors are included, 50% are women. The average age of Board members is 59 and when combined with Executive Directors is 58. The Board and Executive Committee’s Equality and Diversity Policy includes our aim that the Board and Executive would be made up of at least 50% of colleagues with protected characteristics. Anchor aims to create a working environment that recognises the contribution of all colleagues and makes people proud and engaged. We strive to examine where there are further opportunities for us to improve working practices to fully reflect the value we place on the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion. I am eager to ensure the organisation continues to evolve to meet the needs and expectations of the older people of today and tomorrow and I also want to build on our influence in this socially vital debate with government and other stakeholders.” C25-41
