Anchor Sustainability Report 2022-2023

C48 Environmental impact in procurement Procurement forms a central part of Anchor’s pathway to net zero and we are working to develop robust ethical procurement policies under each of our sustainability goals and specific targets for each area. Environmental impact is considered as part of the social value process, which includes the circular economy and carbon reduction commitments. In addition to this, consideration is given to the scope of works and the environmental impact of that. For example, when tendering to join the Greener Futures Partnership framework of construction companies to carry out our first wave of retrofitting works, potential contractors were asked a range of questions around the use of pollutants, waste and recycling, reduction of emissions from their fleet and the transition to electric vehicles, and the circular economy, all of which were scored and weighted.
