Newnton Close, Hackney is an exciting new development which started early 2023. Plans were approved by Hackney’s Planning Committee for the demolition of the existing building to make way for 76 new 1- and 2-bedroom retirement apartments of which will be 100% affordable amounting to an uplift of 171%. The development will comprise of 40 rented homes and 36 shared ownership homes. There will also be communal facilities, and carefully designed landscaping and sensory gardens surrounding the building making this a relaxing and enjoying place to live in later life. The Chimes, Bingley, being built in partnership with McCarthy Stone. The Chimes will offer supportive independent living, sustainable features and reduced cost of living. 36 out of the 59 retirement apartments are for sale as leasehold properties on a shared ownership basis, with the remainder available as affordable rented properties.
