sonal talk concerning Judaism anil Christianity. As’ the conversation pro ceeded and' his personal responsibility to God was pressed home, he turned to the worker and said, “ It seems so strange to me that several times, of late, people have spoken to me in the same way and about the same thing that you are now.” It was pointed out to ;iim that such things were the special providences of God, designed to induce him to investigate the claims of Jesus Christ and to accept Him as his Saviour. He then went on to tell how, while working in various hotels, he had often picked up and read those Bibles which are placed in hotel rooms by the Gideons. Again in Prance with the American troops during the late war, he was “ almost persuaded” to accept Christ through the efforts of Salvation Army Workers. Among other reason ings or arguments concerning the Jew ish Messiah, the writer told him of the conversion of two certain Jewish peo • pie. While we were still speaking, the first mentioned Hebrew-Christian came in, as we sat in the hotel lobby, was introduced, gave a word of personal testimony, urged this Jewish man to decide for Christ and then passed on. As the Hebrew-Christian left, the Jew ish visitor said, “Wasn’t it strange that just as we had been speaking of thaf person, she should come in?” Again the providence and the purposes of God were pointed out. Stranger still was the fact that within the next fifteen minutes a second Hebrew-Christian, whose, conversion had been related jusl a few minutes before, also came in, and, cn being made acquainted with the visitor, also urged him to take the decisive step without delay, and told of his own new-found joy. He was a convert of but a few weeks’ time. The look of surprise and mystified concern on the face of the Jewish visitor at this juncture can better be imagined than described, and when the question was asked, “ Is there now any good reason why you should not accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour today?” he answered very frankly, “No, there is not.” Then the worker, holding out his hand, said, “ Well, will you do it here and now?” And he, seizing the worker’s hand in a hearty grip, said in a way that left no doubt as to his sincerity, “ I will,” “ Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wis dom and knowledge of God! How. un searchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!” .

BIBLE WOMEN ’S WORK Mrs. Lyman Stewart, Superintendent. EALIZING the dangers which confront the Christian faith of young people in college, it was 1 Egftvii with great thankfulness to God that a teacher of the Word heard the request of a splendid young woman, about to begin a medical course in a certain university, that she be permitted to meet with the teacher three mornings each week for the month preceding the opening of school for the purpose of Bible study. Those were indeed precious hours as teacher and college student considered together the foundation truths of God’s revela tion with special emphasis laid upon the mighty work of His Spirit in new crea tion during the present dispensation. With satisfying evidence and testimony that His work has been begun in the heart and life of this young woman, wo seiit her forth to meet the agnostic and atheistic theories which form far too large a part of college instruction, con fident of this very thing, that He which hath begun the good work in her, will perform it unto the day of Jesus Christ. New Lyceum Clubs Formed. The many young Women who have been so greatly helped spiritually through the Lyceum Club longed to reach out to bring the same blessing to other girls in places near by, so after much prayer, two new clubs have been started, one in Redondo and one in Pasadena. In each case a Bible Class of women, taught by Bible Women of the Institute, has volunteered to serve the1suppers as a practical expression of their love for the Lord. Over fifty girls were present the first night at Pasadena and decisions were made for the Lord in the first meeting. Please pray for these classes. “Exceedingly Abundantly Above.” When people are fed on God’s own rich Word and when in addition, they know their money is to be put into definite soul-saving work, it is not hard to loosen their purse-strings, and they will give their dollars without receiv ing a bowl of weak oyster soup in re turn, too! It came to the attention of one of th-. Bible Classes, that a student who hail just graduated from the Institute, found it necessary to go home to Australia be fore starting for the China Inland Mis sion. Sufficient funds were lacking for so long a journey and yet he needed to 1
