An instructor will guide participants step-by-step through painting a featured design. This class requires no artistic ability and encourages participants to enjoy the fun, stress-free side of painting and art. All participants can take home their newly painted artwork at the end of the class. The cost is $15 for Friends Club members and $20 for non-members. The event includes exclusive use of the studio, all painting supplies, guided instructions, and a complementary beverage of wine, beer, or a soft drink. Light snacks will be provided. Do you remember Grandma sitting with her needlework? Maybe you’ve cherished a handmade knitted or crocheted blanket. Local curator Doris Montag will share her personal collection of crocheted pillowcases, doilies, pot holders, and delicate tatted handkerchiefs. Doris will install a “pop-up” exhibit and narrate her research on the history of thread and needlework tools and patterns. Her extensive collection of ordinary and unusual items will bring back memories and stories. This event is ideal for mothers, daughters, and granddaughters.
