But we would not pass by the sub ject without also adding, if you do not know the Saviour you have a good right to worry. But your restlessness cannot be cured with tranquilizers. Only Jesus Christ can give peace and eternal life. You must realize that you are His beloved. Do you have this assurance by personal faith and trust THE CHILD'S DOLL 1 promised a doll to my dear baby girl, I pictured a treasure most fair With exquisite features and teeth of pure pearl, Moving eyes, walking limbs and real hair. We entered a shop and the dear little maid Clasped a cheap tawdry doll to her breast. To make the exchange I was really afraid Though I wanted to give her the best. I took it away and the tears filled her eyes 'Til I gave her the one I had planned. Then the dear little face glowed in joyous surprise That a dollie existed so grand. Oh, Saviour, I too am a child in Thy sight, I choose the first things that I see. I struggle to keep them, I do not know quite Why the Father should take them from me. But when I look back through the wisdom of years, When my faith is age-old and sub lime, I know I shall see through a rainbow of tears, That my Father planned best all the time. in the Saviour? Have you come through Him to God as your heavenly Father? Then when you know Him, you can rest soundly, safely, and peaceably every night. You can arise on the following morning to greet the day refreshed, radiant in the glorious beauty of the Lord Jesus.

The man who does as he pleases, seldom pleases anybody by what he does. * * * THE FOLLY OF LIFE Your name may be found on the scroll of the great, Your fame may extend to heaven’s oum gate. But the plaudits of God are reserved as reward For those whose riches have honored the Lord. She was only a child, and the daughter of a dying rich man couldn’t grasp the full impact of grief which had hit the household. Her father loved her dearly and she couldn’t un derstand why, when he had always seemed so strong, he was now help less and in bed. The terminal disease continued to agonize his body. Then, one dark day, his closest friends came to pay their last respects. As soon as they were gone, she came to the side of his bed and with troubled eye said, "Daddy, I was listening to the men talk. Are you really going away?” With tears wet clh his cheeks, he weak ly clutched her hand, “Yes, dear, and possibly you won’t see me again.” Then his daughter said more bright ly, as if to cheer him up, “Will you have a nice big house and lots of friends over where you’re going?” The man was silent and motionless for a few moments, thinking of what his daughter had said. Finally he an swered, “What a fool I ’ve been! I’ve built a business with great riches, but still I’ll be a pauper over yonder.” How many are like this man, think ing because they are well and strong now, they need never worry. Listen to God’s Word, “Lay not up for your selves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and thieves break through and steal. But lay up f o r yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal” (Mat thew 6:19-20). ■k * * A man without principle will never draw much interest. 31
