Pocket Pear Speakeasy PArty
Cost: $75 Ages: 21+ Location: Pearland Lions Club
Event Description: Keep Pearland Beautiful hosts the Pocket Pear each year to raise funds for scholarships to high school seniors in Pearland and other environmental initiatives. The night begins with dinner, continues with a poker tournament/casino games, and guests dance the night away. 1920’s era attire is strongly encouraged. Dates & Times: Sat., June 16, from 6:30 - 11 p.m.
COMPOST DEMONSTRATION Cost: $10 Ages: 12+ Location: Pearland Community Gardens adjacent to the YMCA
Event Description: Keep Pearland Beautiful is hosting this composting demonstration to show you how easy it is to start a compost pile in your backyard. You will learn the basics and get some materials to get you started. Composting with worms will also be discussed. Each person that registers will get an easy set up mesh and stakes compost bin that will be about three feet in diameter. There will be a door prize drawing for two used compost bins. Dates & Times: Thurs., June 21, from 7 - 8 p.m.
