of life. These are only a few of the things they don’t know, and th a t you do. This being so, it is your plain duty to do your best to sh are these blessings th a t God has given you w ith those who are igno ran t of even th e ir existence.— P ro te sta n t Review. ga» PREACHING THE SECOND COMING Evangelist A. H. Burton says: Dur ing the course of a long and varied ex perience in Gospel work in many lands and many languages, I have always found th e preaching of Christ’s second coming, in God’s hands, th e means of aw akening th e unsaved and reviving th e saved. The most rem arkable con versions I have ever known have re sulted from th e preaching of th e Lord’s Coming. Indeed, it is impossible to preach a full Gospel w ithout including th e “ Blessed Hope and th e appearing of th e glory of our g reat God and Sa viour Jesus Christ” (T itus 2 :1 3 ). Only le t it be w ith unction from on high, ever remembering th a t we have to do w ith living men and women, and children, too, who have E te rn ity before them . A part from th is it may become as dry and wearisome as an old almanac. jfif DEMONS BECOMING ACTIVE A L arger Amount of Demon Posses sion in the City th a n Usual is reported by a w riter in th e Bombay Messenger. “H undreds of people from among the b etter classes are being possessed of w hat they call th e sp irit of Matha. They are going about in carts visiting differ en t shrines and are being worshipped by others who believe th e goddess has come into them . The sto ry is told of a young man who had actually died and afterw ard s Matha came into him and re vived him. He is k ep t in a temple and is worshipped by the b etter classes. The possession comes a t in tervals and is manifested by tw itching of the muscles all over th e body and by pe culiar powers of clairvoyance.”

A GERM-PROOF ABODE A lady in a prayer meeting a t the Church of the Open Door testified th a t she had been carried safely th rough the influenza epidemic because she took refuge in th e ninety-first Psalm . Rela tives h ad told her th a t reading th is Psalm would no t keep germs away, bu t she insisted th a t th e re were no g^rms in th e ninety-first Psalm and th a t she was living in th is Psalm daily, and th erefo re she was no t afraid of the “ pestilence th a t w alketh in darkness nor for the destruction th a t w asteth at noonday.” SB YOUR CATHOLIC FRIENDS It may perhaps supply a little stim ulus to some of our read ers to help them to p u t th e Gospel before th e ir Catholic friends, to mention a few things th a t they have never been ta u g h t by th e ir church, and as to which you should — and probably do— th a n k God you did receive instruction. They have never been ta u g h t th a t God loves them now, as individuals; th a t they can pray to Jesus Christ a t any time, in any place, under any circumstances, on any sub ject th a t is n ear th e ir h e a r ts ;,th a t He invites them to come to Him direct if they are burdened and troubled w ith th e prom ise th a t He will h ear and an swer th e ir p rayers; th a t they can know th a t th e sins of th e p ast are forgiven; th a t they can be delivered from th e power and dom inion of sin; th a t they can have th e assurance of going to be w ith th e Lord in th e hou r of death, w ithout having to spend any tim e in P u rg ato ry ; and th a t th e Bible is THE Word of God to them personally, th a t God sends it to them , th a t it shall be a lamp to th e ir feet, a ligh t to th e ir path and a guide, solace, com forter and coun sellor in all th e varying circum stances
