A Bittersweet Goodbye
CELEBRATING DR. ANDREA’S INCREDIBLE JOURNEY
If you had the chance to meet Dr. Andrea Londono-Shishehbor over the past eight years, you already know what makes her so special. One of the hardest parts of running a practice is saying goodbye to people who have become more than coworkers, and that’s certainly her. Dr. Andrea always brought warmth to the room and treated every patient with compassion and care. While we are sad to see her go, we’re grateful for everything she brought to Exceptional Smiles and excited for what’s ahead for her and her family. Dr. Andrea and her family are leaving their home in Cleveland for a great opportunity in California. If we had it our way, she would have stayed here for many more years, but sometimes, life presents new chances you have to take. While she starts this new chapter, I want to thank her and let you know how much she has meant to our team and patients. Dr. Andrea first came to Cleveland from Colombia, where she was born and raised, 26 years ago. In a new country, she faced the uncertainties and growth that are part of many immigrants’ stories. She said she wasn’t expecting to find the strong sense of community she cherished so much here, but it changed her life. “It was here that I became a mother, a love and a joy that is beyond words,” she said in a farewell message. “Cleveland became the place where our family grew, where our children took their first steps, found their voices, discovered
their passions, and became the remarkable individuals they are today.”
Dr. Andrea had a wonderful support network here, whom she credits for helping her when she was still finding her way. She knew she wanted to be a dentist at just 15 years old and spent years of hard work learning English and working as a dental assistant, all while earning her dental license. For 18 years, she helped people in Ohio feel happier, healthier, and more confident in their smiles. We were lucky to have her at Exceptional Smiles at Landerbrook for those last eight years. She is one of the most empathetic, attentive, and outgoing dentists I’ve ever met. She’s not just a talented clinician, but a genuine, upbeat, and kind person. Those of you who have had Dr. Andrea know her ability to relate to patients and her constant, positive presence in the office. With her technical precision, clinical know-how, and personality, she was the perfect blend that makes an incredible dentist. Dr. Andrea said it was an honor to be part of her patients’ journey, just as much as they were part of hers. “I am deeply grateful to my patients, colleagues, and mentors who trusted me, challenged me, and allowed me to do work that I truly love,” she wrote. Dr. Andrea and her family are relocating for her husband’s career, a skilled health professional himself. She will devote more of her time to
their nonprofit work at the Unity Free Clinic, which provides medical and dental aid for underserved communities. It’s a testament to both of their passions for helping others. This is a hard goodbye, one of those bittersweet moments that make me truly grateful I had the privilege of knowing her. I know how much she loved sharing in your lives and stories. Though we are bidding farewell to a beloved dentist, friend, and coworker, she’s leaving you in excellent hands. Our whole team is here to ensure the transition is smooth and seamless for any of you who were her patients. To say she will be missed is an understatement, but we are excited for her family as they embark on this new adventure. Thank you, Andrea, for everything you have done at Exceptional Smiles. We can’t wait to hear about what you do next, and know you will continue to inspire us. -Dr. Jason Schermer

PUT YOUR BEST SMILE FORWARD HOW INVISALIGN AND RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY WORK TOGETHER
A confident smile can change the way you show up, whether you’re stepping back into the classroom, standing in front of the boardroom, or walking into a job interview. Invisalign and restorative dentistry are effective treatments for improving your smile, and they can be powerful partners when used together. Often, Invisalign minimizes the amount of restorative work needed and improves long-term outcomes, giving you an extra boost of confidence for years to come.
improperly, and giving your grin a balanced appearance. Invisalign can also minimize the amount of teeth the dentist needs to remove. Sometimes, Invisalign can eliminate the need for more invasive restorative treatments, such as veneers, entirely. FINISHING STRONG Once your teeth are properly aligned, restorative treatments can correct more serious issues with your smile. Dental implants can replace missing teeth and roots with a natural-feeling solution. The titanium post is placed in the jawbone and serves as a support for other restorative treatments, such as dentures. Crowns help cover damaged teeth, improving their function and appearance. Sometimes, a bridge is the most effective way to replace missing teeth, anchoring to neighboring teeth, making it easier to speak, chew, and smile. A CONFIDENT APPROACH There’s no one-size-fits-all solution for dental care, and your dentist will take a holistic look at your dental goals, oral care history, and what your current dental needs are. We rely on our comprehensive exams to determine the best treatment plan, whether that’s Invisalign, crowns, or a combination of treatments. This helps minimize surprises and costs, and helps you develop a plan to achieve the brightest smile. When you’re happy with your smile, it gives you greater mental focus, and that level of confidence helps set the mood for success. If you want to explore the best ways to achieve the confident smile of your dreams, contact our office to schedule an appointment.
SETTING THE FOUNDATION The alignment of your teeth plays an important role in restorative treatments like bridges or crowns. Starting with Invisalign can lay the foundation for success by reducing crowding, fixing gaps that can cause implants to fit

STRETCH YOUR GROCERY BUDGET WITHOUT SACRIFICING NUTRITION EATING CLEAN WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK
Eating well as a family doesn’t have to mean spending more at the grocery store. With a little planning, you can make nutritious and affordable meals without adding extra pressure to your week. Just keep these helpful tips in mind, and you’ll see it’s easier than you think. LET THE DEALS DO THE PLANNING. One of the simplest ways to cut costs is to plan meals around what’s currently on sale. Instead of deciding your menu first, start by checking store deals and seasonal items. If a certain protein or produce is discounted, build multiple meals around it. Buying a little extra when prices drop and freezing what you don’t use right away can also help stretch your dollars.
SHOP WITH A PLAN, NOT IMPULSE. Going into the store without a plan can make it easy to overspend. Eye- catching displays and last-minute add-ons might seem small, but they can quickly add up. Creating a weekly shopping list keeps your focus on what you truly need. Some people even find that grocery pickup helps them avoid impulse purchases altogether. KEEP IT SIMPLE WITH WHOLE FOODS. Healthy eating doesn’t require expensive specialty items. In fact, some of the most nutritious foods are also the most affordable. Think fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans, eggs, dairy, and lean proteins. These everyday staples can be combined in countless ways to create balanced, satisfying meals that support your family’s well-being. PREP NOW, SAVE TIME LATER. Busy evenings can make it tough to prioritize healthy choices, unless you’ve done a little prep ahead of time. Washing and cutting produce, or portioning snacks at the start of the week, makes it much easier to incorporate fruits and vegetables into meals on the go. When healthy options are ready to grab, they’re far more likely to get used. Small, thoughtful choices made consistently can lead to big results for your wallet and your well-being. Keep it simple, stay flexible, and find what works for your family.
