Music City Plastic Surgery - November 2018

Let’s face it — beauty products are expensive, and their prices continue to skyrocket as celebrities release newmakeup lines each year. Between Rihanna’s 1-ounce bottle of Fenty matte foundation that costs a whopping $40 and Kim Kardashian’s KKW $130 contouring kit, purchasing a fun product or two can quickly eat up your paycheck. These astronomically high numbers leave only a couple options: Forgo the product entirely or bite the bullet and make the most out of the products you do buy. MAKE YOUR BEAUTY PRODUCTS DO DOUBLE DUTY PENNY-PINCHING ALTERNATIVE USES 1. DEODORANT A swipe of deodorant can do much more than keep you smelling lovely; it also prevents blisters. Before you head out for the night in a pair of new shoes, apply some deodorant to the heels of your feet. You’ll come home blister-free. 2. A TOOTHBRUSH If you have an old toothbrush, you can use it to scrub jewels into the sparkling stunners they’re meant to be. Additionally, an old toothbrush also makes a great lip exfoliator. Just get it wet or add a little petroleum jelly and sugar for extra buffing power. HOW DR. BURGDORF GOES THE EXTRA MILE IS A MOMMY MAKEOVER RIGHT FOR YOU? For those of you who prefer the latter option, here are six different beauty products that have interesting but practical alternative uses.

3. SHAVING CREAM Shaving cream can be used to tackle makeup stains. So before you give up on your foundation-stained pillow or your white shirt covered in bronzer, take a can of shaving cream and spray the spot. 4. NAIL POLISH If your shoes paid the price for last weekend’s bachelorette party extravaganza, head straight for the nail polish. Find a color that matches your heels and use it to touch up any scuff marks. 5. AN EYESHADOW BRUSH A clean keyboard is a happy keyboard. But there is no denying the fact that keyboards can get a little grubby. To get to those difficult-to-reach areas, try using an eyeshadow brush. You can use it to dust between keys for a clean workspace. 6. VASELINE Yes, Goo Gone (the traditional product to get rid of gum) is one of the greatest inventions known to man. But it’s often a product that you buy, use once, and can never find again. Next time you’re in a sticky situation, rub Vaseline on the spot. It will remove gum and gunk from your shoes, clothes, and even your hair.

Dr. Burgdorf genuinely wants to help these hardworking mothers feel confident in their strong and beautiful bodies, which have literally brought human beings into the world.

If you have visited our office here at Music City Plastic Surgery in the last three years, you have likely heard of Dr. Burgdorf’s No. 1 Amazon best-selling book, “The Mommy Makeover: Restoring Your Body After Childbirth,” but have you read it for yourself? This book really emphasizes Dr. Burgdorf’s philosophy. A vast majority of his patients are women who have chosen to devote their lives to one of the hardest but best professions in the world: being a mother. In his experience, both personally and professionally, Dr. Burgdorf noticed that moms have a difficult time putting their own needs first. They sacrifice everything for their children: their time, their desires, and their sleep . They also sacrifice their bodies, and those physical sacrifices — pregnancy, breastfeeding, months of getting up in the night — have a price. Many women find that while they truly adore their babies, their bodies have been permanently changed after having children.

And he wrote “The Mommy Makeover” to help them decide if plastic surgery is the right choice. His book dispels some common myths associated with motherhood and plastic surgery. For example, many women assume they won’t be able to breastfeed future babies after having a breast lift, but Dr. Burgdorf explains that an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon will be able to preserve breast function. By dispelling myths like this one and by helping women decide whether a mommy makeover is right for them, Dr. Burgdorf works to give every patient a comforting experience that is tailored specifically to their desires and expectations. It’s no wonder that patients have dubbed him the “Gentleman Surgeon.” If you haven’t had the opportunity to check out “The Mommy Makeover,” it’s available for purchase on Amazon. Even if you have read the book and just want more information, be sure to subscribe to Music City Plastic Surgery’s YouTube channel, or follow us on Instagram, where you can see Dr. Burgdorf answer commonly asked questions and hear from former patients about their life-changing experiences.
