HEALTH & FITNESS COMMITTEE We hope you find the facility satisfactory in giving you what you need to help keep you fit and healthy during your time within the resort. With nearly an all new committee in place, we are striving to make this an informative and fun season. Some things are still in the works and we will post the events and dates as they become finalized. Expect a Health and wellness speaker later this month, 5K Walk/Run event within the resort in February, Health and Wellness Fair on March 9 at LP. We have a new reader board in the gym that will provide you with health and wellness tips and information monthly. It will also keep you updated with any new Fitness Center news and activities. We are giving instructions and demonstrations on the proper use of the weight room and its equipment on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9-10AM. We are providing a sign-up sheet at the center and you may sign up if needing instructions or you just need a refresher. The resort also provides other physical fitness activities including sports such as: Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Water Aerobics, Swimming, Lap Swimming, Line and Tap Dancing, Hiking, Bicycling, Golf, Pickleball and Tennis. Our main fundraiser for the fitness center is selling bricks for our walk path in front of the building. It’s a great way to leave your legacy here at ORPS. It not only helps to raise funds for items needed to hold our events, but also to help beautify our resort. If you are interested in purchasing a brick, the order forms are posted on the business bulletin board in the fitness center. (Contact a committee member for full details.) PLEASE REMEMBER TO WIPE DOWN ALL EQUIPMENT AFTER USE AND WASH YOUR HANDS. WE WANT EVEYONE TO STAY HEALTHY THIS WINTER. PREVENTION IS THE KEY. Officers will be selected at the January 7 meeting at 2 PM in the East Room, LP and the Committee’s work will officially begin as it explores ways to enhance facilities for pets within the Resort now and into the future. ORPS’ Five Star Outdoor Resort Palm Springs is creating a Legacy Fund. A legacy gift is a planned donation given through a will or other form of designation. It is a decision that each person makes in their own financial planning process, taking into account their wishes and values. People create legacy gifts for many different reasons. For some, it is a way to ensure their memory lives on. For others, it is a way to ensure that ORPS continues to be a five star resort for their family or friends who will enjoy the resort. A legacy gift is a great way to show our community the positive impact that ORPS has had on your life. Consider a legacy gift to ORPS’ Five Star Legacy Fund when you are evaluating your personal, family and financial needs as well as your long-term giving goals. There are different options for legacy gifts and the ORPS Legacy Fund volunteers will help you navigate the best option for you. Stay tuned for more information. FACILITIES PLANNING COMMITTEE The FPC has submitted their recommendation to the Board for 2019-2020 as follows: 1. El Saguaro Chef line consisting of hood system and equipment. This is the remaining phase of the ES kitchen renovation. 2. La Palma Pool Deck Replacement. Due to the size of the project, the FPC reduced this into components that could be phased over two budget years. It was recommended to the Board to begin with the Tennis Seating Area. Thank you to C HARLES S TINSON for all his contributions to FPC and Outdoor Resort. He has withdrawn from FPC but will assist us in the future. We now have a position open to ORPS owners. Our next meeting is scheduled for January 17 at 2PM in the East Room. All interested owners are invited to attend. A VA F ELT , Chair
