Day 5: Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Jaipur Your journey continues with a visit to the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri, once the capital of the Mughal Empire. Although it lay abandoned and virtually unknown for hundreds of years, its palaces, pavilions, mosques, and residences are remarkably well preserved and visually stunning. Later, continue to Jaipur, known as the ‘pink city’ for its rose-red palaces. Day 6: Jaipur A full-day tour of Jaipur reveals why this great city is considered one of India’s foremost cultural attractions. Drive to the Amber Fort for a tour, then head to the foothill lake. Back in Jaipur itself, explore the City Palace and the 18th-century Jantar Mantar observatory, and admire the façade of the Hawa Mahal, or Palace of Winds. Day 7: Jaipur - Ranthambore Make your way to Ranthambore National Park, known for its picturesque lakes and, of course, its Bengal tiger reserve. An afternoon game drive will introduce you to the park. Day 8: Ranthambore Ranthambore National Park is a wildlife haven, and you’ll head out in search of leopards, monkeys, birds, and sloth bears on two game drives. As you take in the sounds and smells of the jungle, you may even spot the shy and elusive Bengal tiger - a greater possibility nowadays thanks to the conservation work of the Ranthambore Foundation. Day 9: Ranthambore - Delhi Rail travel is a huge part of life in India, so including a train journey on your Golden Triangle tour was a must. Drive to the station at Sawai Madhopur and board a train to Delhi, speeding through towns, cities, and countryside en route to the capital. Day 10: Delhi - UK Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting to take you home.
