Salisbury Elementary School- March 18-22 marked French Pride Week in New Brunswick (Semaine provinciale de la fierté française)! To acknowledge NB’s Acadian culture, Salisbury Elementary students and staff enjoyed a Pets de Soeur made by Nanna’s Bakery! Pets de Soeur is a French-Canadian dessert that was originally made from leftover pie dough to avoid waste. It is layered with butter and brown sugar, rolled, sliced, placed in a pan, covered with additional brown sugar, and baked. Yum!

Lou MacNarin School- Lou MacNarin School brought back Peer Helpers this year to help assist the younger students, particularly those in kindergarten and Grade 1. The Peer Helpers have shown a lot of leadership skills and have made some great connections with the younger students. They especially love sporting their sunny yellow t-shirts.
